50 Women Anthology Series
50 Women is an award-winning anthology series re-enacting critical historical moments through the personal narratives of fifty individual women representing 30 countries.
Each personal narrative is a testament to strength and perseverance amid political, cultural, and societal obstacles — armed conflict, gender-based violence, immigration, health crises, and entrepreneurship among them. Their stories challenge stereotypes and preserve living historical accounts of the complex issues shaping our world, proof that history is both utterly intimate and entirely shared.

50 Women: Book One includes first-person narratives told by women from Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Caucasus.

Stories from Girls and Women of Mogadishu
Funded by the British Embassy of Mogadishu and UK AID Conflict pool with support from UNICEF, “Stories from Girls and Women of Mogadishu” met the world at the United Nations in March 2017 after two years of coordination across three time zones.
Teams of field researchers spent weeks under the direction of Co-Producer Sagal Ali reaching out to women and girls representing Mogadishu society – government officials, merchants, gender-based violence survivors, and school girls. “Stories from Girls and Women of Mogadishu” blends the investigative contributions of journalists, the empathy of interviewing researchers, and the expression of local photographers and artists.
The creative and editorial direction drew inspiration from the 50 Women anthology series and other international compilations.
